Florida Virtual School (FLVS) recognized more than 200 student leaders during the annual Club Awards Day on April 9 at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, FL. This in-person event highlighted the achievements of students participating in the virtual school’s more than 60 clubs.

Florida Virtual School is now hiring for more than 190 new positions across the state. These 190 jobs, which include teachers, instructional leaders, paraprofessionals, school counselors, and school registrars, will support the Florida Scholars Academy.

More than 375 students and dozens of industry professionals from across the state attended the Florida Virtual School (FLVS) inaugural Student Career Fair and Expo on Feb. 29. During the multi-hour online event, students had the opportunity to network with professionals from across the state and attend presentations.

Sarthak Gupta Wins Annual Congressional App Challenge
Sarthak Gupta used the programming language Python, which he learned in ninth grade at Florida Virtual School, to develop the app Signify, which uses image processing to convert sign language into English text, which is then spoken aloud by a text-to-speech synthesizer.
